There are not too many Christian books written for men. However, this is one such book. The author, Martin C Haworth, served as a missionary with OMF in the Philippines. He clearly knows God, and his walks across so many of the ‘Scottish Munro’s’ brings this vividly to mind. All these mountains are above Edinburgh and Glasgow, but having said that the book is a delight, even when not tramping the Scottish hills!
Haworth’s observations are not just based on walking on the Munro’s; rather they bring an understanding to our spiritual journey, helping us meditate on our own experiences. A sense of the wonder of God pervades through the whole book. This is coupled with a real understanding of just what a person needs to fully experience all that God has laid out for them. This is a very good book. Good for holidays, and great for devotions too. Highly recommended.
