New GNB Bible to Engage with Today’s Youth Culture

Bible Society to release Youth Bible at CRE Sandown Park.

At this year’s CRE Exhibition at Sandown Park in October Bible Society will be launching their new GNB Youth Bible which has been a collaboration project with Youth for Christ to create a Bible that meets the needs of young people and connects with their world. The Good News Bible is recognised for its use of plain, everyday language which gives the reader clear understanding of the Bible with an emphasis on the meaning of the text.

Bible Society explains, “We listened to the ideas and suggestions of young people who told us what they would love to see in a Bible. We heard they want information to help them learn and dig deeper into the Bible’s message. We heard they want challenges to make them think about what they read and tools to help them act on it. We heard they want time to reflect and space to create, through journaling, drawing and adding colour.”

Laura Hancock, Church Resources Director at Youth for Christ, adds, “At Youth for Christ we are deeply excited about the Good News Bible Youth Edition. Our heart is to see young people’s lives changed by Jesus and this Bible is all about that! Whether they know Jesus or not, we want them to get involved, discover who God is for themselves and learn what he has to say through loads of different interactive spaces!”

The result is a contemporary designed Bible using the Good News Bible text together with specially written features from Youth for Christ.
  • Complete GNB Bible text.

  • Over 400 creative ‘interactions’ in the margins of the Bible with plenty of room for notes and drawings.

  • A full-page introduction to every book of the Bible explaining what it’s about, why we might want to read it and how it fi ts with the whole story, and spotlighting key characters.

  • 32 colour pages including journaling ideas, information on what the Bible is and how it came together, as well as a timeline of events and Bible-based advice on issues challenging young people in today’s society.

  • Advice, testimonies and features on cultural issues facing young people today (including bullying, use of social media, the environment, self-harm, etc.).
