The Book of Romans: A history-shaping text on experiencing unity, family, and righteousness within the early Church. Paul invites his audience to wrestle with issues of division and unity, as Jewish and non-Jewish people argued about what it meant to follow Jesus in the context of their daily lives and practices. Paul wrote this letter to not only display Jesus' love for all of his people, but also unite a divided Church.
In many ways, we too live in a day where the Church is divided. From conversations about what it means to be evangelical, to issues regarding race, class, and gender, to our relations with success, greed, war, and violence—all of these things impact and inform how Christians should live. Amidst this backdrop, we are in need of fresh vision for what it means to belong to one another. We are in need of a new experience of love that heals, hopes, and redefines possibility.
