These essays originated when Young Scholars in the Baptist Academy met at Regent's Park College, Oxford, for conversation about what has been 'handed over' (tradition ). Authors seek to understand the place and function of tradition in Baptist life through interrogating historic and contemporary Baptist witness. The topic is approached from the perspectives of history, philosophy, and theology. Subjects range from hermeneutics, to baptism, to beauty, drawing on resources from the full breadth of Christian tradition.
